Books Read March 2024

books read 2024

Reading took a back seat in March as I had several things that demanded my full attention for most of the month. I did get 2 audio books completed, listening mostly at night before sleeping. And by the end of the month I did have one ARC in print completed, although it wasn’t a favorite. Hopefully I will read some better books in April and get back to my 2024 goals list!

hot springs drive book

Hot Springs Drive – Lindsay Hunter
I listened to the Hot Springs Drive audio book and let me tell you, this one is one mixed up concoction. It has almost every dysfunctional item out there and I was there for it. The main theme was a loss off identity, and it sure did lead to some big messed up issues. It’s a bit steamy at times, but that’s the least of the shocking traits of some of these characters. It reminded me a bit of the series Desperate Housewives, Big Little Lies and Revenge.

ready or not book

Ready or Not – Cara Bastone
This was audio for me. Not sure I recommend audio for this one, narrator way to theatrical and loud at times for my liking. Nearly blew my ears out when she would raise the volume. And there are a couple of spicy scenes that with her added theatrics were a bit much, for me. After a rare one night stand, Eve finds herself pregnant and she’s decided to keep the baby and raise them as a single mom. Her circumstances and decisions effect every part of her life and relationships and while she doesn’t always make the best decisions, I enjoyed the story of her 9 months of pregnancy.

The Princess of Las Vegas – Chris Bohjalian
I thought this one was going to be a winner for the first 50 pages but it fell a bit off the deep end for me and wound up just ok. Way too much on the cryptocurrency topic for my liking and I admit skimming many parts. If Princess Diana, Vegas, mobs and crypto are your thing, you will likely enjoy it more than I did. Thank you to NetGalley and Doubleday books for an early copy in exchange for my honest opinion, The Princess of Las Vegas is now available.

about me

About Me...
I am a married mom of 2: both are now recent college graduates, carving their own paths. One lives out of state, the other nearby. We love to travel but don't do it often enough and generally find our adventures close to home.
I've had many chapters from New Mom, Working Mom, Stay-At-Home Mom, Sports Mom, School Volunteer Mom, Business-Owner Mom, Back-To-Work-Mom. I will always be a mom - but they now havetheir lives independent of mine. What is next besides mom in the title? Oh, and I read a lot.
