I am going to be short and sweet and get to the point, mostly because I had intended to write this up almost a month ago. In the first half of 2023 I read 68 books, which seems crazy to me! I know there is absolutely no way the 2nd half will be the same number or even close, I have slowed way down. In any case, I have read some great books and many of my favorites have been newer releases – one isn’t even published yet per this posting. I need to get back to my goals & hopefuls list that I posted at the beginning of the year as I have definitely been distracted by the shiny new books. I always find it interesting at the end of the year to see how much this first half list changes. Here are my ten favorite books that I have read so far in 2023.
- The House of Eve – Sadeqa Johnson
- Go as a River – Shelley Read – Be sure to check out the review I posted.
- A Quiet Life – Ethan Joella
- Symphony of Secrets – Brendan Slocumb
- Signal Fires – Dani Shapiro
- Exiles – Jane Harper – a sequel! Don’t start with this one.
- The Covenant of Water – Abraham Verghese
- The Quiet Tenant – Clemence Michallon
- All the Dangerous Things – Stacy Willingham
- None of This is True – Lisa Jewell – available 8/8/23 in U.S.
