Holiday Gifts for the Book Lover

bookish reader gifts

I have been asked by several friends and family members to remind them about my favorite reading gadgets as the holiday shopping season is getting underway. I sent off a few recommendation but figured a compilation could be useful to anyone interested. Many of these are affiliate links, I earn a small (pennies) commission if you shop from my links on some sites, but it costs you no more. I mention that, well because anyone that posts affiliate links is supposed to. 🙂

Book Light

I love a good book light and this one is my favorite. It sits around your neck instead of on the book and is also a great light for knitting and other tasks.

Kindle Page Turner

This kindle page turner is a favorite, I use it often but especially when reading in the tub, in bed or on a plane. Is it necessary? No. But I love it and it’s a splurge. I have never seen any other version of this device so far, so until there is competition the price will probably remain where it is.

Cell Phone / Kindle Stand

Speaking of reading on planes, I always travel with this little stand. It is perfect for resting my kindle (or phone) on the seat tray. It also works great with my kindle page turner mentioned above. Every time I use it on a flight to read, someone asks me where I got it. Perfect stocking stuffer!

Bath Tub Tray

My bath tub tray was a gift the year we refinished our bathroom. It is truly one of my favorite items in my bathroom and I just love a long soak with my kindle popped on the tray. I also use my kindle page turner with it and its relaxation perfection! This one has an expandable base so it fits the width of my. tub perfectly.

Book Pouf

There was a time where Ugg book poufs were sold at Bed Bath & Beyond but before the stores closed, they stopped selling them. For quite a while no one could find them online. I love mine. Recently, they have been popping up at TJ Maxx, Homegoods and Marshalls, but I have yet to find one there myself. Here’s a knock off, although its a bit pricier than the originals were. I haven’t tried this brand but have heard it is similar to the Ugg one.

Cozy Reading Lounge-wear

This cozy set is a knock off of the Spanx sets at a fraction of the cost. Very comfy.

Tea Forte Pyramid Diffuser Set

A bookclub friend introduced me to Tea Forte and I am smitten! My favorite flavor is the White Ginger Pear but you can find lots of goodies among their collections. Cuddling up with a great book and a cup of tea is pure bliss, and their pyramid diffusers are the best!

Steeping Tea Cups Set

Speaking of Tea Forte, I love their tea mugs that allow for steeping loose tea. If you wish to stick with the pyramid diffusers, they have traditional tea cups as well.

Ember Mug

Most of the items on this list I already have & love. This one however is an item on my own list this year – an Ember Mug. Keeps your coffee warm continuously. Mmmmm, cozy!

Kindle Paperwhite & Kindle Oasis

I love my Kindle. Not only can I buy and store tons of books on it, but it has made borrowing library books through Libby so easy and has cut my book buying budget astronomically. I like both the Paperwhite and oasis for different reasons – the Paperwhite is compact & lighter but the oasis has lovely page turning buttons and is very ergonomic in your hand. Wait for Black Friday sales to start for best prices. If you buy an older version, make sure it is waterproof if you want to use it near a pool, beach or tub.

AirPods

Here’s one I use every single day. I absolutely love my AirPod Pros and listen to audio books with them every day without fail. If you don’t need the noise cancelling feature, the regular AirPods will do just fine as well.

Bookish T-shirt

I have collected a good deal of bookish graphic T’s and sweatshirts over the years and this one is a favorite print of mine.

Books – What would a holiday bookish list be without at least a few books! Here are some favorites I’ve read in the last two years.

Seasonal Romance – Holiday Romance & Snowed In

Suspense / Thriller: The Quiet Tenant

Psychological Thriller – Look Closer

Suspense – These Silent Woods

Historical / Literary Fiction – Go As A River

Historical fiction – The House of Eve

Musical / Historical Fiction & Suspense / Mystery – The Violin Conspiracy & Symphony of Secrets

about me

About Me...
I am a married mom of 2: both are now recent college graduates, carving their own paths. One lives out of state, the other nearby. We love to travel but don't do it often enough and generally find our adventures close to home.
I've had many chapters from New Mom, Working Mom, Stay-At-Home Mom, Sports Mom, School Volunteer Mom, Business-Owner Mom, Back-To-Work-Mom. I will always be a mom - but they now havetheir lives independent of mine. What is next besides mom in the title? Oh, and I read a lot.
