July TBRs – What I Hope to Read As I Dust Off My To Be Read List

As I mentioned in my June Wrap Up of the books I have read, I have been so easily sucked into reading mostly new releases. They are bright and shiny and everyone starts talking about them. I also have been known to be a sucker for the celebrity book club picks. Which is funny, because I really don’t know a lot about the celebrities themselves, but I tend to get curious about what they have picked each month.

As you can imagine, I have such a long To Be Read list, I just keep adding and adding and can’t keep up. I have started using the library’s pause system as a “mini” to read list at over 300 books on hold and paused. Did you laugh at mini? Good, because I have over 700 listed on Goodreads. 😂

I was thinking this past month that I really want to get back to books that aren’t quite as shiny and new that are on my lists. So with that, I’ve decided the first five books in July and August that I read will be published in 2017 or older. That should knock ten right away from deep in the depths of my To Read list and dust them off the shelves so to speak.

Here are the first five I plan to read in July. Have you read any of these? Did I pick some good ones? I just picked most of these books up at the library today.

July 2019 books TBR

China Rich Girlfriend – Kevin Kwan – I read Crazy Rich Asians, and saw the movie as well. I am looking forward to a fun, light, read.

Happy People Read and Drink Coffee – Agnes Martin-Lugand – I know I will get to this one for sure as it is the pick this month for one of my bookclubs.

Death on Tap – Ellie Alexander – This has been on my TBR list forever. At least a year, maybe more.

Hotel On The Corner of Bitter & Sweet – Jamie Ford – Recommended by multiple friends so I am looking forward to diving in to this one.

Lilac Girls – Martha Hall Kelly – If I enjoy this book I will likely continue right on with the more recent prequel, Lost Roses.

about me

About Me...
I am a married mom of 2: both are now recent college graduates, carving their own paths. One lives out of state, the other nearby. We love to travel but don't do it often enough and generally find our adventures close to home.
I've had many chapters from New Mom, Working Mom, Stay-At-Home Mom, Sports Mom, School Volunteer Mom, Business-Owner Mom, Back-To-Work-Mom. I will always be a mom - but they now havetheir lives independent of mine. What is next besides mom in the title? Oh, and I read a lot.
